Online portfolio brief

The purpose for my site:
-To create interest in my work by showcasing my current work.
-Promote me as a designer, my personal style and skill set.
-Create another means in which to make connections with the textile world.

My audience:
It is important to establish an aesthetic in a way that the audience I wish to attract would appreciate.

-potential clients: one-off works in mixed media or garment construction or both.

-potential employers: within the textile industry. Specifically in areas where hand drawing is a valuable asset.
Repeat pattern work.
Mixed media work.
Costume design.

-fellow designers: textile designers and the wider community, spreading the textile interest!

Items of content:
-Displaying images that demonstrate my enthusiasm, devotion and the quality involved in my projects.
-Illustrate my style of work and what skills I can offer. -Include details of involvement in community projects that I have participated in.

Design identity:
Making my name and label ‘Spivey’ known and visible on my site.

Scope of the project:
-Keep the site I create simple, showcasing just a few of my most current, quality pieces of work.
Mixed media work, such as my tartans project.
Hand drawn repeat work, such as my wallpaper length
Hand created textile works intended for fashion garments, such as my leather dress.
-Work that I plan on pursuing and show a passion in.

Site’s requirements in order to meet these goals:
-Strong content that is able to stand-alone.
-Clear and coherent function’s which are easy to navigate.
-Most of all, my site should reflect my own personality, show continuity and be easily maintained.
